Neighborhood Diabetes
We joined forces with our friends at Salix Ventures in the summer of 2004
to acquire Neighborhood Diabetes, a rapidly expanding mail order diabetes supply
distributor based in Wakefield, MA. Founded by the energetic
husband and wife team of Lou and Kathleen Belmonte, Neighborhood
Diabetes has sprouted in just six years from a fledgling operation in
the founders' kitchen to having one of their industries' best customer
service reputations in all of New England. Going the extra yard,
Neighborhood Diabetes has built its name by providing, in addition to
all types and brands of diabetes testing supplies, the much needed
education and support to help newly diagnosed diabetics gain the
knowledge and comfort necessary to adapt to the new lifestyle dictated
by their illness. Or as Lou and Kathleen frequently remind anyone
who listen, they are "helping to make a difference."

Municipal Benchmarking
In a world where tax dollars seem to be spent in a vacuum, this start up
company has developed a compelling information service which enables
cities and towns to compare how they collect and spend their dollars
with the towns who are most similar. Started in the spring of
2004, Municipal Benchmarking provides incredibly detailed comparative
data to municipal managers, who for the first time will have ready
access to information that their counterparts in the private sector have
had for decades, allowing them to make faster, more informed decisions
than ever before.

Diversified Collision Repair Systems
Returning to a field familiar to the
TC Hayles founders, DCR Systems has entered the collision repair field
to bring its lean manufacturing inspired model for repairing damaged
cars to auto dealerships looking to excel in this unsexy segment of
automotive service. Led by Michael Giarrizzo, Jr. and a subset of
the team that built Sterling Collision Centers into arguably the most
successful collision repair company in the country, DCR Systems intends
to focus on helping dealerships tackle the unfamiliar world of autobody
repair by allowing them to outsource the operations of their facilities
to a more knowledgeable, more advanced team that can better service
their customers. It would be hard to ever find a more passionate
team than the one at DCR Systems.
